Planit Consulting has been engaged by Golden Plains Shire Council to prepare the detailed Concept Master Planning of the Bannockburn Civic Heart Project.

The main feature of the Civic Heart project is a large Adventure Playground that will feature wet and dry play areas. Planit’s team of urban designers and landscape architects developed a strong design that drove the character of the playground and was carried through to the master plan design aesthetic. The design took into consideration the creation of multiuse spaces ensuring that the space can cater for a range of age groups and abilities as well as remaining functional through all seasons. The design process included both community and council consultation.

An area of approximately 1,500m2 of water play and highly embellished adventure play spaces. The adventure playground features varied play spaces catering for a wide range of ages and providing an adventurescape for exploration and enjoyment. The play areas combine feature play equipment pieces with natural adventure elements including rock hop adventure trails, dry and wet creek areas, garden areas, open turf spaces set within a network of pathways and informal trails. Embellishments include shelters, picnic areas, seating and bbq’s located strategically throughout the space to promote passive surveillance and varied experiences throughout the playground.
