Unit development

Planit Consulting was engaged by Portfolio Group to achieve development consent for a four-storey residential flat building in Kingscliff, New South Wales. With the addition of the fourth storey, the development allowed for a total of seven units, with a total of 21 bedrooms.

The Kingscliff locality is predominantly characterised by three-storey development and is usually composed of only six units. Increasing the height of the development therefore required seeking a variation to the Development Control Plan and achieving a development that was consistent with the local context. Planit was able to work with the architect and project team to achieve a four-storey building design that was consistent with the local character and reflected the sub-tropical climate and contemporary coastal living.

This led to the proposal being approved unanimously by council. Planit Consulting successfully helped the client achieve the maximum yield for their site and a good urban design outcome.
