Planit is in the process of designing and documenting Stage 2 of the Bannockburn Heart project following the successful launch and popularity of Stage 1.
Opened to the public in December 2019, Bannockburn Heart is Golden Plains Shire Council’s first water play space. Its features include:
-
adjacent play equipment for toddlers and children
-
a ninja-style play area for teens
-
a flying fox designed for people of all abilities
-
seating
-
lighting
-
all abilities public toilets
-
shaded areas.
Planit worked alongside Council to deliver the project, which has proved popular amongst local families and visitors to the region located 20km outside of Geelong, Victoria.
The site and its new carpark, all designed by Planit, also supports local organisations including the Golden Plains Farmers’ Market and the Bannockburn Scouts who now utilise Bannockburn Heart as a new meeting place.
Stage 1 allowed Bannockburn Playgroup to relocate to a new facility, while local power and fire services have been upgraded.
Golden Plains Shire Council has now engaged Planit for Stage 2 of the project which includes further development of the space to include:
-
a village green
-
a performance stage that looks out to an open amphitheatre
-
change rooms to compliment the water play area
-
additional shade and BBQ structures
-
more opportunities for market stalls.
Planit is excited to help Golden Plains Shire execute the finished product to support a fun, free day out for the whole family.
