Byron Bay car park upgrade

Planit was engaged by John Holland Rail to undertake the detailed design of the upgrade of the Railway Hotel and Lawson Street South Car Parks in Byron Bay, New South Wales. This was a multi-discipline project on State Rail-owned land which is part of the State Heritage listed Railway Group Precinct.

Planit developed the stormwater management plan to tie into Council’s existing strained infrastructure and a concept design for consultation with JHR and Byron Shire Council. Planit was also required to liaise with Byron Shire Council to ensure the upgrades aligned with their new Master Plan, the proposed Byron Bay Bypass, transport for NSW bus interchange and other infrastructure upgrades. The detailed design was developed with inputs from Council, heritage specialists, local stakeholders and JHR.
