DA Approved for Rekindling The Spirit’s New Facility in Lismore

Planit Consulting is proud to announce the recent development approval of a new community facility in Lismore for our client, Rekindling The Spirit. Approved by Lismore City Council, this purpose-built facility will deliver culturally informed health and support services for the local Aboriginal community.

Located at 25 Uralba Street, the project involves the demolition of an existing building and construction of a modern, multi-level facility that includes basement parking, a lift, a prominent street entry, and a welcoming design that reflects Aboriginal cultural values. The architecture draws on key cultural themes such as circularity and connectivity, with the main form inspired by the circle as a representation of healing, gathering, and unity.

Rekindling The Spirit is a not-for-profit organisation offering holistic health and wellbeing services for Aboriginal people, with an emphasis on connection to culture and community. The new building will support their expanding operations and reflect their unique approach to care and healing.

Planit is proud to have led the planning process, working closely with the client to ensure cultural sensitivity, architectural integrity, and planning compliance. This facility is not only a physical space, it’s a cultural cornerstone for the community.
